Submission Instructions & Guidelines

PLEASE read our submission rules and instructions below prior to submitting your work. If you do not follow the instructions regarding image size, file names, supply list formatting, etc. your work may be passed up for publication. To submit, email your projects to submissions@scrapnart.com

In order to have your project submission reviewed by the Scrap n’ Art staff, you must follow these instructions. These instructions are very important and help make the task of reviewing the hundreds of submissions we receive during each call easier. If these instructions are not followed, we cannot ensure that your submission will be reviewed.

1. You must submit a high quality (300 dpi) image saved in .jpg format. The image must be at least 2000 pixels on the shortest edge of the image. Images must have a light or white background behind the project item being photographed.

2. Please try to SCAN flat layouts when possible, as photos of layouts often have perception problems. If you must photograph a flat layout, adhere the layout to a white wall or other vertical surface and take the photograph standing in front of it at eye level, NOT with the layout on the floor or a desk. If you need additional information regarding the best way to photograph your projects, please email submissions@scrapnart.com.

3. Your project name must include:

the name of the call
the name of the project
your name

Example: A layout called “Sunshine” for the Vacations call submitted by Angel Pruitt would be named vacations_sunshine_angelpruitt.jpg

4. A list of all supplies used in the making of your project must be included. This includes projects made with handmade products or products purchased from vendors of handmade supplies. Please remember, the more information you provide, the easier it is for us to put together your supply list should your project be chosen for publication. An incomplete supply list could cause your project to be removed from consideration.

5. You must agree to our terms and conditions of publication prior to submitting your project. To read these terms and conditions, please click here.

6. Please include your blog address if you have one.

7. Please send a separate email for each submission with the subject line stating the call you wish your project to be considered for.

8. Please also include any tips or anything you think would interest other scrapbookers about how the project was put together, what inspired it, any special techniques, etc.

Please note that we receive hundreds of submission for each issue and only a few of these will make it through to the final publication. Because of this, it is not feasible for us to contact each and every submitting artist. We contact accepted artists approximately four weeks prior to the publication of the issue in question. If you do not hear from us right away, that does not mean your project has been rejected. It takes us a long time to decide on the projects accepted for the publication. It can sometimes be as long as six weeks before you hear from us, especially if you submit your project right after the call opens. If you do not receive an email from us regarding the acceptance of your project, then it was not accepted for publication. Please do not let this discourage you and continue to submit your work to our publication. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email submissions@scrapnart.com
